All our milk and milk products are sold as raw milk for pet use only. Our milk is sold under the license number Z004328 and is intended for cats, dogs, small livestock and other animals.
Our milk is hand-drawn, weighed and filtered immediately. We use a quick chill method to bring the milk down to under 40 degrees in 30 minutes. This ensures the milk retains its fresh taste.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Why don’t you use a milk machine? We have a milk machine for emergency use; however it takes approximately three times as long to milk with a machine. Cleaning the milk machines also requires bleaching the plastic lines, which leads to bleach and plastic residue leaching into the milk. (Warm milk is especially prone to bind to plastic particles.) The biggest reason we do not use a machine however, is because when the inflations are removed from the goat, most of her udder is wet with milk. We consider it to be much more sanitary to wash the goat and milk by hand. This this prevents the milk from touching the goat’s udder and immediately places it in the milk pail.
- What do you do if a goat kicks the milk pail? Occasionally a goat will bump the milkpail as she shifts on the milkstand. It’s ok. However, flying feet are not. All milk that has a foot go over or to the edge of the pail is classified as milk for our baby goats/dogs or soap milk. Ask about our discounted prices for soap milk! It does happen frequently.
- Will This Taste Goaty?
- Pound for pound, a dairy goat will produce more milk than a cow! She has a built in thriftiness that uses everything in her diet and environment to create her milk. There are 4 factors that affect the taste of goat milk…
- What the goat eats… garlic and acorns make bitter milk!
- A stinky billy goat
- A dirty pen to sleep in
- How well the milk is chilled
- We’ve developed a quick-chill process to drop the milk temperature from 110° to 36° within an hour. However, to ensure raw milk doesn’t develop a ‘goaty’ taste, it must also be kept below 36°. Fresh, raw milk is only available for farm pick-up. Cultured milk (yogurt, kefir and buttermilk) are not temperature sensitive and will stay fresh for up to 3 weeks.

Weekly Subscribers and Customer Policies
- Glass containers are only available for weekly subscribers who provide their own glass jars. Cultured milk is only sold in glass and an additional dollar will be charged for those who don’t bring a replacement quart jar.
- Weekly subscribers have 2 days to pick up their milk. On day 3, the milk will be used for kefir before it ages any further. (We have a policy that we don’t sell old milk, so if you don’t show up, we lose it!) Should an emergency or situation arise, feel free to text and we’ll be happy to leave your milk for you if we know you’re coming later.
- Canceling the day off, or not picking up milk twice within a month will result in being removed from the list of weekly subscribers.
- Customers who do not commit to weekly (or biweekly) milk pickups will pay the full price for milk. The success or failure of the farm depends on our ability to schedule consistent milk sales. If unsure about prices, please refer to the prices posted on the milk refrigerator.
